Wow.  I've not actually been able to visit Bear Point yet, but from everything I've heard and seen, it isn't pretty.  As you can see in the picture (from NOAA), my boat is still floating (much better than I can say about many of my friends' boats), although it isn't in the slip that it was in a week ago.  I'm not sure exactly what happened, but from all I can tell, Isabel Anne (the bigger boat just above mine) broke free and came over for a visit.  I'm not actually sure where my boat ended up, I just know that after the fact, a few people from the marina tied it up to Isabel Anne to prevent any further damage.

Long story short, although my boat is floating, it seems to have received pretty substantial damage to the starboard side.  From what I hear, it's pretty safe to assume that the deck to hull joint has been compromised.  If this is the case, I would imagine that the boat will be totaled by insurance.  I'll know more when I go down this weekend.

Also-  I just got off of the phone with Patti from Gabriel.  They had anchored their boat just west of the marina in anticipation of the storm.  They used 145lbs worth of anchors and 160feet of chain.  Gabriel was found about 2 miles from where she was originally anchored.  As a comparison, the anchor I used for my entire trip weighed 11lbs.  This was a fierce storm.  Somewhere along the way, Gabriel seems to have been hit by another boat, and sustained a good bit of damage.  They are unsure at this point whether or not the boat will be salvaged.  Sad thing is, we were the lucky ones.

Above is a NOAA satellite picture of my boat after the storm.  Below is a link to a slide show of some pictures from Bear Point Marina and the Orange Beach area.
