Back to the Boat Life

I didn't mean to bring down your day with Cocoa's story...It was just a pretty big part of my life that I didn't feel I could ignore.

Ok, so quick question...When did May get here? Unbelievable...this 'semester' (if I can call it that) has absolutely flown by!

So, I'll continue with last week. Thursday I met with all the Gameday folk and we looked over the tryout tapes and decided who we thought would be best for the job. I then went over to Anne's apartment and crashed on their couch. It was really good to see Andy & all Anne's roommates again...it'd been a really long time. Anne & I had been invited to an awards ceremony that the Grady College of Journalism had before graduation called the Pride of Grady. Turns out, she & I got a "Certificate of Volunteerism" for our work on a project we did for the school. Don't get me wrong, normally I'd be pretty psyched to get an award like this, but neither one of us were too thrilled with it due to the circumstances that brought it on. It was a nice pretty certificate suitable for framing, but I didn't really like the idea of trying to keep it all neat and pretty, since I'd have to keep up with it for another 4 hours or so until graduation was over.

Luckily, just after the awards ceremony I spilled some punch on it and had a good excuse to fold it up and stick it in my pocket.

Graduation was good...then we went back to Anne's and had burritos from a local resturant...they were really good. We then went to Hazinski's party for a little while...went back and took a nap...ate at Mellow Mushroom around 10:30, went out for a little while...I got to see a lot more people I hadn't seen in a while...Saturday went back to Newnan, saw my cousin John, his wife Sally, and their new baby Clark. (The picture is of Brenda & Jimmy, the very proud grandparents, and of course, Clark.)

Sunday I went to Rooks' lake house and got to ski some for the first time this year. That's one thing I'm really going to miss this year...the lake trips.

Got up this morning and drove all the way back down here. It was really good to get back...I feel like I've spent the last 5 days doing nothing but driving. Mark picked up pizza tonight and we watched the second part of the series "10.5" on NBC. I think that they're going to be leaving for their trip either tomorrow or Wednesday. I am glad I got to see them again before they left, though.

Don't know if you can tell, but I'm getting tired so I'm going to go to bed now. Talk at ya later.
